Katie Dunwell knows that Wilsonville is a great community, built from the rich history of Willamette Valley settlers, serving the diverse community of people who call this city home today, and honoring the values of the indigenous tribes who called this land home long before we arrived.
Katie believes that every elected official has the responsibility to serve the city today, while considering how today's decision may shape future generations. It’s why Katie supports Wilsonville’s investment in access to affordable housing, quality education, well-funded public safety and services, strategic development, and protection of natural resources.
Katie's extensive professional background includes Partner at a boutique investment bank and leading a marketing team at Amazon’s corporate HQ. Katie’s volunteer experience includes currently serving on the Wilsonville Development Review Board and prior board experience with both nonprofit and corporate boards.
She was raised in western South Dakota near the Pine Ridge Reservation and is an enrolled tribal member of the Oneida Nation. She has lived in the Pacific NW for over twenty years.
Katie will tell you that her greatest accomplishment in life is family, including her husband Jim, their daughters, and granddaughters.
Katie believes that each of us has a moral responsibility to make a difference. She says "If I can help make this community better by serving on the City Council, then my time of service will be a success. I am following the role of my parents - to serve our community and model good behavior with a spirit of leadership rather than conflict. When necessary, it also means being tenacious and courageous to best serve the people of Wilsonville."
We love our volunteers! Sign up to join Katie on the trail. You'll receive a confirmation email. If you don't receive the email, be sure to check your spam folder.
